This is our most comprehensive program available. Cranbrook Pest Control Home Protection Program focuses on both the interior and exterior of the home, including the perimeter and outlying area. A three-step program will be implemented following a detailed inspection of those areas.
Our first step is to target areas of the infestation where pest control materials will be most effective. The type of treatment option including the bait we use will depend on the type of pest and the severity of the infestation. We typically utilize granules, dust, liquids and gels.
Step two involves targeting exterior areas where future infestations are likely to occur. We’ll apply pest control materials to these hot spots as well as along the perimeter of your home and outlying areas too. To provide long-term control, we also incorporate exclusion techniques to seal entryways that pests can use to get inside your home.
The final step involves regular monitoring based on your pest control needs. Our professionals will visit periodically and apply exterior treatments as needed—since this service is performed outdoors you won’t be required to change your schedule!
Commercial/Industrial Pest Management

Areas inspected and treated will include outlying areas around your home, where these ants often originate and travel to and from your home.
General Insect Control
We offer various different insect control programs depending on your individual needs. Wasp, Hornet and Bee Control
The technician will be injecting or spraying a pesticide directly in or onto the nest to kill all stages of the insect present in the nest. If possible, we will remove the nest. Wasps that are out of the nest at the time of the treatment may return to the area and be controlled upon re-entering the nest. Where the nest has been removed, these insects will typically disperse from the area. Generally, there is no need to vacate the premises. However, it is advisable to avoid the immediate vicinity of the nest for at least 24 hours.

Infrared Thermal Inspection
Our latest addition to our pest control services is the use of infrared thermal technology. Not only does this technology allow us to find critters within walls and ceilings, but it can also be used for determining their points of entry, as well as detecting moisture, air leakage and other problems that may attract unwanted insects and rodents. A thorough inspection with this camera will also determine how well your home is insulated and will pinpoint the trouble areas that will need further attention.
Clean-Outs and Exclusions
We will perform a clean-out for you in regards to rodent droppings, bat guano, etc. To guard you from potential health hazards associated with this type of work, our trained professionals will do this for you. Spot Problems Before They Start
Our inspection has the ability to reveal potential pest invasions, moisture intrusion that can lead to mould, hidden water damage, roof moisture, plumbing leaks, missing insulation, leaks in furnace and boiler venting, electrical hot spots, foundation cracks, radiant floor leaks, window and door seal issues—just to mention a few.
With an infrared thermography inspection, we can “see” and “measure” the heat energy that is emitted by walls, ceilings and foundations. The thermal images (called thermograms) can identify a wide variety of problems that may not be visible to the naked eye. Damaged insulation, water intrusion and pest activity all produce different heat signatures and can be identified in the thermal images.
Pinpoint Infestation Treatment
In the image shown here, a heat signature within a wall cavity revealed where wasps had been creating a nest. With this information, we are able to pinpoint the location for treatment without having to cut a hole into the wall. A simple, small hole drilled into the wall cavity and product introduced via injection method is all that is needed to render the nest inactive.
Save on Energy Costs
With thermal technology, we can easily diagnose most problems without having to second guess what the problem may be. The photo of the roof shows that there are points of entry for such pests as cluster flies and perhaps even bats. As well, the photo also indicates serious issues with the insulation within the attic losing tremendous amounts of heat, leading to high energy bills.
The image of the entryway clearly shows that the seals around the door are in poor condition and in need of replacement. The energy savings that result will more than pay for the infrared inspection.
